So… How are you doing? Did you have a good weekend? Did you do anything special? Um, I had some major writing plans for this weekend. Here is how that went down:
Friday night: I was all set to participate in @FriNightWrites #WriteClub. It is a space in cyberland, dedicated to writing sprints and motivation via Twitter. I put my daughter in bed and realized that I did not have an ounce of energy left to stay awake, let alone write. I was asleep well before 10:00 pm.
Saturday: I decided to write and re-map an idea that had taken a turn I didn’t like after a brainstorm writing session last week. Instead, I took a 2 hour nap. I didn’t even feel bad. That nap felt so good. So good that…
Sunday: Took another nap. Football makes me sleepy.
Monday morning: Here I am with a PrepOutMon update to share and I’ve got nothing. No new story maps. No brainstorm writing sessions to tell you about. But! I did have a great idea for a book upon waking from my nap on Sunday. I will be mapping that this week. Bonus: It is a YA book, which is really what I want to write.

Excuses! Excuses! But YA is very interesting – a good genre.Will it be “dark?” as you suggested on your FridayNightWrite? Hoping that progress will be made – I am relying on you to show me how to map.:)

I managed to write my first attempt at a day by day writing plan for NaNoWriMo and scared the sh#t out of myself in terms of how organized I will need to be. On the other hand I did see that I am definitely one of those people that needs to have a detailed plan.
I seem to have a basic story idea that I can tackle in many ways and am trying to figure out what will be the most interesting way to explore this story.
Ooh! A day-by-day plan sounds very interesting (and scary as sh#t)! Now I want to try that too. I liked my plan of a general map with no itinerary, but a day-by-day plan sounds like something that would truly see me through to the end of NaNoWriMo. Maybe I will do a bit of both?
